‘A Very Bethel Christmas’ on the horizon

Bethel University invites the community to come to the 2nd annual “A Very Bethel Christmas,” which kicks off Nov. 28.
“A Very Bethel Christmas” is a two-week long open house showcasing the buildings on Bethel University’s McKenzie campus.
Decorated lobbies will include Campbell Hall Administration Building, Dickey Fine Arts Building, Odom Hall, the Ray and Linda Morris Science Complex, Burroughs Learning Center (library), Marrs-Stockton Music Building (the former student center), Baker Fieldhouse, and the new Vera Low Center for Student Enrichment.
Florists and individuals who are decorating a lobby include: City Florist, Lulubelle’s Florist, Paula Kelly Florist, Impressions, Kathy Gearin and Trina Morris, Christy Hampton, and Carolyn Flood.
Tours will end in the Dickey Fine Arts Building Lobby just in time for a Festival of Lessons and Carols presented by the Bethel University Singers beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Self-guided tours can be taken from Nov. 29 through Dec. 10.
Another event that is part of A Very Bethel Christmas is the Bethel University Twinkle Ball for Moms and young daughters on Nov. 30.
Tickets to the Twinkle Ball are $20 for a mother and daughter and $7 for each additional daughter and can be purchased in the Bethel University Bookstore. The Twinkle ball will be from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Vera Low Center for Student Enrichment.
Christmas with Renaissance 2011 is also part of “A Very Bethel Christmas” with six performances by Renaissance, Bethel’s Performing Arts Experience. Performances are Dec. 2-4 and Dec. 9-10 but tickets are now only available for shows on Dec. 9-10, which are in Bouldin Auditorium in the Dickey Fine Arts Building. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under and can be purchased in the Bethel Bookstore or by calling (731) 352-6445. Discount rates are available for groups of 15 or more.
