A Fulton man was injured Wednesday night when he was struck by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 51 North at the intersection of KY 94C in Fulton County, Ky.
Charlie E. Roberts, 69, of Fulton was transported by Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson for treatment of apparently minor injuries, according to a Kentucky State Police news release.
The accident occurred just after 9 p.m. when a 2002 Ford SUV driven by Amelia Prater, 36, also of Fulton, came up on a pedestrian in the travel portion of the roadway while she was traveling south on U.S. 51 North. She apparently was unable to avoid striking the pedestrian, Roberts.
Ms. Prater, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured, according to a report filed by KSP Trooper David Dick.
The KSP was also assisted at the scene by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Twin City Ambulance Service and Fulton Fire Department.
