Police are investigating a Martin man’s claim that he was shot in the leg Saturday night in Union City.
The incident was reported to Union City police about 4 a.m. Sunday, when a Union City officer met with a Martin police investigator at the emergency room of Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, in reference to a man who claimed he’d been shot in Union City.
The victim, Anthony Jordan Paschall, 22, of Martin, told police he came to Union City to meet a man whom he knows only by a nickname and he did not know for sure where the incident occurred, but it happened in the street, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Paschall told police he had been looking for the man and was “hanging out” when the man pulled up. He said he got out of his vehicle and, while speaking with the man and an unknown Hispanic man, he was hit on the head — at which point the man whom he’d been seeking allegedly shot him in the calf area of his right leg.
The incident allegedly occurred about 9-9:30 p.m. Saturday.
