Obion Central teams
in D’burg jamboree

Both Obion County Central basketball teams will participate in the Dyersburg Jamboree on Saturday.
The Lady Rebels will face Millington at 3:30 p.m. in two quarters of play, to be followed by action pitting the OC boys against Halls at 4:15.
The jamboree will begin at 2 o’clock.
Admission is $5.
Obion Central will host a pair of Hall of Champions games next week to open its 2011-12 season, playing South Fulton on Tuesday and Union City on Saturday.

UCHS selling tickets
for hoops season

Season tickets for Union City High School’s 2011-12 basketball campaign are on sale at the school.
The passes are $30 each and will admit the bearer to all Tornado varsity and jayvee home games.
Linda Graham is in charge of the tickets at the school and may be contacted at 885-2373.
Union City opens the home portion of its slate on Nov. 17 with a Hall of Champions game vs. Chester County.
All Tornado home games will begin at 6 p.m.

gets spot on ESPN3

The season-opener for the UT Martin men’s basketball team against Louisville 6 p.m. Friday will be shown live on ESPN3.com. The direct link for the broadcast will be available here: http://espn.go.com/espn3/index?id=320971
The Skyhawks won their only exhibition tune-up, 90-72 over Webster on Nov. 4. Junior forward Eli York’s 21 points paced five different double-figure scorers for UT Martin.
Louisville won 74-55 over Pikeville (Oct. 26) and 62-54 against Bellarmine (Nov. 3) in its exhibition season. Freshman Chane Behanan  led the team in scoring in both games, pouring in 14 points against Pikeville and 16 points against Bellarmine.
