A young passenger in a car sustained possible injury Monday evening in a hit-and-run accident at South Fifth Street and West Washington Avenue in Union City.
The crash occurred about 7:20 p.m., according to a Union City Police Department report.
Latonia L. Watts, 30, of 403 South Sixth St., Union City, was northbound on South Fifth Street in a 2008 Nissan Altima and was making a left turn onto West Washington Avenue when the car was struck by another vehicle that allegedly ran a stop sign at the intersection of West Washington Avenue and South Fifth Street.
The car driven by Ms. Watts had damage and her passenger, 11-year-old Danielle Watts, was transported by ambulance to the emergency room of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City for treatment of possible injuries.
The other vehicle, described as a green Mercury Marquis, left the scene after the crash. It allegedly left traveling northbound on South Fifth Street, according to the report.
