A Union City woman has reported to the Union City Police Department that her car was stolen by someone wanted by police.
Celelia Lopez Garcia, 28, told police on Friday that Sergio Arturo Hernandez, 34, of 419 South Sixth St., Union City, had taken her green 1997 Pontiac Grand Am about two weeks ago, but because he is family she was reluctant to take action. She said it wasn’t until Friday that she found out Hernandez is wanted by police on several methamphetamine charges.
Hernandez is suspected to be traveling with Tammie Renee Smith, 39, who is wanted for the same charges.
Hernandez and Ms. Smith are being sought by police after the remnants of six “shake and bake” meth labs and three one-gallon zip lock bags of meth oil were found by the Union City Police Department and the 27th Judicial District Drug Task Force on Oct. 13 at a duplex at 419 South Sixth St. in Union City being rented by Ms. Smith and occupied by Ms. Smith, Hernandez and Kenneth Lee Moore, 27.
Moore was arrested Oct. 22 on meth-related charges.
Active warrants are still on file for Ms. Smith and Hernandez for the meth-related charges.
Anyone who has information about their whereabouts is asked to call the Union City Police Department at 885-1515 or Crime Stoppers at 885-TIPS (885-8477). Crime Stoppers may also be emailed at email@example.com.
