Completed arrangements are being announced for Ralph Jackson Sutton, 82, of Obion, who died Oct. 31, 2011, at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion, with the Rev. Terry English officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. Friday at Memphis Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Green, Justin Green, Danny McDonald, Jerry Carver, Alan Jordan and Jay Cryer.
He was born in Obion April 30, 1929, son of the late Joseph Hub and Virgie (McCoy) Sutton. He had been a supervisor for the Kimberly-Clark Co. in Memphis and was the owner of the former Jatco Auto Repair. He attended Obion First United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was also a member of the Rose Society of Memphis.
He married the former Jane Allen in 1949. She survives.
He is also survived by his son, David Allen Sutton of Hiram, Maine; two brothers, Mac Sutton of Obion and Johnny Sutton of Dyersburg; two sisters, Vernelle Sellers of Obion and Jeanne Davis of Baton Rouge, La.; two grandchildren, David Allen Sutton Jr. of San Francisco and Lucas Sutton of Gorham, Maine; and two great-grandchildren, Reed Sutton and Nadia Sutton, both of Florida.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Jerry Dwight Sutton; two brothers, Daymon Sutton and J.F. “Pappy” Sutton; and four sisters, Margaret Argo, Shirley Harrison, Joanne Sutton and Edna Emmons.
