Cardon Locksmith Service in Martin recently announced it is now an authorized Intoxalock® ignition system installation center.
The Intoxalock ignition interlock device was developed by Iowa-based Consumer Safety Technology Inc. and is the first driving safety device of its kind to offer advanced technology that enhances the performance standards of the interlock industry.
The Martin locksmith service serves Obion and Weakley counties. Cardon Locksmith Service began installing and servicing the Intoxalock systems in August.
The Intoxalock is primarily used by people who are legally required to have an ignition interlock device in their vehicle because of a drunk driving violation. However, more and more users are beginning to voluntarily install the devices for safety preferences within their families and businesses, according to a new release.
“Intoxalock is first and foremost a driving safety device and it has a range of benefits,” CST CEO Dave Arringdale said.
To use the Intoxalock, a driver pushes a button, submits a breath sample and waits for the LED screen to display their breath alcohol content reading. If the driver passes, they can start the car and drive. If a driver doesn’t pass, they will be unable to start their car and will have to wait before submitting another breath test.
