The annual 4-H Public Speaking Contest will be taking place in schools across Obion County this month.
4-H’ers will be invited to compete in the 4-H County Public Speaking Contest — to be held on Dec. 6 — based on their performance at the class level.
By building a great speech, students have the opportunity to build self-esteem and other social skills they will use throughout their entire lives. All fourth through eighth grade students are invited to participate in the contest.
South Fulton seventh- and eighth-graders kicked off this month’s event today.
Other clubs which will participate include:
Wednesday — Black Oak, seventh grade;
Friday — Hillcrest, seventh and eighth grades;
