Marvin Flatt of Martin has been elected president of the Tennessee Association of Directors of Career and Technical Education.  
The Association consists of the directors and administrators for Career and Technical Education in Secondary Education across Tennessee.
Flatt, who is the director of Career and Technical Education and Attendance for Weakley County Schools, has been  active in leadership roles in CTE for many years, including serving as president of the West Tennessee Directors group and state vice president. He also serves on the Tennessee Attendance Supervisors Study Committee and is a past state chairman.
A graduate of the WestStar Leadership Program, Flatt is active in many community programs that include serving on the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce’s Adult and Youth Leadership Programs, Carl Perkins Center for Child Abuse, and Chairman of the Weakley County Education Foundation.  He also serves as chapter advisor to the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.
Flatt’s goals for the organization this year include: strengthening professional development for CTE administrators, improving communications and strengthening the legislative network.
