‘A Christmas Carol’ to be staged at Dixie

The Bethel University Renaissance Theatre Program will present Charles Dickens’ classic story “A Christmas Carol” Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 5 and 12 at 2 p.m. at the Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center in Huntingdon.

Charles Dickens believed that the ills of a greedy world could be healed by brotherhood and unselfishness, subjects that he addresses with the famous character Ebenezer Scrooge. This fully staged musical version of Dickens’ classic tale has become a holiday tradition. Complete with energetic choreography, beautiful and haunting music by Alan Menken, and over 150 costumes that will carry viewers away to London at the heart of the Christmas season. From the ghost of Jacob Marley, to grand old Mr. Fezziwig, to the humble Bob Cratchit, and to the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, the audience will love the wonderful and creative characters and storytelling in this classic story.
