In honor of October’s being physical therapy month, Martin Mayor Randy Brundige presented a proclamation.
Martin – In recognition of the importance of physical therapy for area residents, Mayor Randy Brundige has proclaimed October as Physical Therapy Month in Martin. On hand for the presentation were Alton Malacapay (Care-All), PT; Kim Turner,(CareAll) PTA; Brundige; Brian Smith (The Sideline), PT; Brittany Kimbell (Regional Homehealth), PTA; Liz Malacapay (Regional Homehealth); and Agnes Dickenson (Tennessee Quality Homecare), RPT.
“It’s appropriate to recognize the many benefits that physical therapy brings to the residents of our area.  As our population ages, improving and restoring motion is critically important to help people stay fit, active and independent while enjoying life,” Brundige said.
“Martin is fortunate to have excellent facilities for physical therapy at The Sideline, CareAll, Regional Homehealth, Tennessee Quality Homecare, Volunteer Community Hospital and Lakeway.  These facilities are staffed with professional physical therapists and assistants who care deeply about their patients and are eager to help them achieve an active and enjoyable life.” he said
Brian Smith, president of The Sideline, said that he’s very proud of the many people that The Sideline has helped in the eight years that it’s been open.
The Sideline is located in the renovated Varsity Theater on Oxford Street in downtown Martin.
