Lael SS Class has meeting

Lael Sunday School Class at Union City First Baptist Church met recently.
Joyce Stephens opened the meeting with prayer. Then members named those who are sick and others in need of prayer.
Dot Capps gave the devotional taken from John 6:35-36. It was titled “Jesus Satisfies.”
In this scripture, the crowd asked Jesus what miraclous sign He could give them.
Jesus talked about the feeding of 5,000. He said “Verily, verily I say unto you, ye seek Me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves.”
He was talkiing about the two fish and five loaves that He served more than 5,000.
The bread reminded everyone of the manna their forefathers had received in the wilderness.
Jesus said, “I am the bread of life and those who follow Me willl never hunger and never thirst.”
Edna McIntosh was the hostess and she served cake, candy, nuts and soft drinks or coffee.
The next meeting will be in November, with Bobbie Adams serving as hostess.
Those attending were Pat Cunningham, Trudie Thornton, Ms. McIntosh, Jean Eaker, Mrs. Stephens, Jessie White, Ms. Capps, Dorothy Rasberry, Ar-lene Keeling and Faye Passmore.
