    School:    Obion Central
    Grade:    Senior
    Height:    6-1
    Weight:    200
    Pos.: Quarterback

By the numbers: A record-setting night from Trey Phipps got the Rebels back on track — and he didn’t even need a full game to do it. Phipps threw for 395 yards and a school record-tying seven touchdowns — all in the first half — as Central bounced back from its first loss of the season a week earlier with a 56-6 win over Haywood in Brownsville on Friday. He was 17-of-21 with seven passes going for 20 or more yards, including TD strikes of 77, 61, 45 and 43 yards. Phipps has now thrown for 2,398 yards and 33 TDs this season. Phipps and the Rebels will be looking to put up more big numbers in front of the home crowd on Thursday night as Obion Central hosts Dyersburg.
Sound bite: “Trey started quick, and it’s been that way all year,” OC head coach Shawn Jackson said. “He’s completing 70 percent of his passes, which is what we’ve asked him to do. Friday night, he spread the ball around with four different players catching touchdown passes. That’s the key to us being successful. I went back and figured it up, and he’s only played 24 quarters this year. That says a lot about him and what he’s been able to accomplish. If we’d been in battles and he would’ve played all four quarters, he would probably have 40 touchdown passes.”
HONORABLE MENTION: Marcus Parr, OC senior receiver, had five catches for 193 yards and four scores; Mason McGrew, OC senior receiver, had a 61-yard TD catch, kicked six extra points and added a two-point conversion; Keylon Hyde, UC junior fullback, went over 1,000 yards rushing for the season as he carried 35 times for 178 yards and two TDs; Khiry Lewis, UC junior slot, rushed for 117 yards on 10 carries; J.P Fowler, SF junior running back, rushed for 100 yards and a TD on 11 carries.
