Dresden business target of armed robbery

A downtown Dresden antiques store received extra drama Thursday morning when it became the scene of a gunpoint robbery.

According to reports from the Weakley County General Sessions court, Corey L. Ray, 25, of Paris, entered Grandma’s Attic at 143 Main St. and allegedly pointed a handgun at the store employee. The report stated that he then asked her to go into another room and lie down on the floor with the instruction not to move while he allegedly took her cell phone and emptied the cash register of all its cash ($115) along with the victim’s wallet. He then left the building.

Additionally, the report states that he was transported to the store by Angela Lytle, 27, also of Paris, who allegedly knew of Ray’s intentions to rob the business. She also allegedly drove Ray from the crime scene in an attempt to help him escape.

Both are being charged with aggravated robbery and Lytle is also being charged with being an accessory after the fact.
