Revia Wilson Caruthers, 84, of Union City went home to be with the Lord at 5:50 p.m. Oct. 21, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Union City.
There will be no services at this time. A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at Highland Memory Gardens in Pecks Mill, W.Va. Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Sunswept Baptist Church, 205 South Sunswept Drive, Union City, TN 38261.
Mrs. Caruthers was born Sept. 3, 1927, in Omar, W.Va., daughter of the late John B. and Delphia (Williams) Chafin. She married Jimmy Caruthers in 1987. He died in 1989. She retired after 18 years of service as a receptionist at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City and was a member of Sunswept Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John E.B. and Astrid Wilson of Woodstock, Ga.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Betsy (Wilson) Jack of Red Hook, N.Y., Jenny (Wilson) and Mark Newell of Elkmont, Ala., and Amy (Wilson) and Randall McGregor of Eatonton, Ga.; her stepson, Steve Caruthers of Union City; her sister, Patty Wigington of Akron, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Frank C. Wilson.
