 J.P. Fowler
    School:    South Fulton
    Grade:    Junior
     Height:    5-10
    Weight:    175
    Pos.:  Safety

By the numbers: Fowler continued his consistent play  for the season with a team-best eight tackles in a 35-21 loss to Lake County last weekend, a game that started as a defensive battle in the first half and then turned into a track meet in the second. One of Fowler’s stops was behind the line of scrimmage, and he also had one of the Red Devils’ six recoveries of Lake County fumbles. Fowler currently leads the Devils with 50 tackles for the season.
Sound bite: “J.P. had a solid game for us,” Red Devil head coach Kelly Spivey said. “We put him in a spot to make tackles, and he made a lot of plays for us. Once he gets his hands on a player, he usually makes the tackle. He’s getting better. He still has a lot to improve on, but he’s shown an ability to get to the ball.”
HONORABLE MENTION: Willy Kneuppel, SF junior linebacker, had six tackles and an interception; Zack Vaughn, SF sophomore lineman, had five tackles and a fumble recovery; Nathan Spaulding, OC junior linebacker, had six solo tackles and five assists; Tanner Miller, OC senior defensive back, finished with seven total stops, including five solo tackles.
