Pet adoption event set

The Animal Adoption Center will be holding a “Grillin’ Hot Dogs for Shelter Dogs” fund raiser and adoption event at Tractor Supply in Union City Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.  There will be pet adoptions, pizza slices for $1, hot dogs for $2 and face painting for $2, plus a pet costume contest with a $5 entry fee. There will be prize baskets for the top three entries and free treats for all pets attending.  
The event is a fund raiser to help the Adoption Center with purchases of animal food and vet care for shelter pets. Anyone that would like to help with any portion of this event is welcome, a spokesman said.
All pets must be on leash or in pet carriers.
