With a successful Oktoberfest behind them, the Martin Historic Business District, a TN Downtwons Community,  met Oct. 10, at 4 p.m. at the Looking Glass Coffee and Curiosities in downtown Martin to discuss the Christmas season in downtown Martin and events for the upcoming year.
The annual Oktoberfest event was held Oct. 8 at Festival Park in downtown Martin. Rolling Thunder® TN-Chapter 6 provided concessions and helped sponsor the event.

The event would not have been possible without volunteers and partners: Downtown Divas Soccer Team; Mink’s Magical Family Entertainment; Pam Turner; Mike Havrila-Aaron’s Rentals; The Arts Co-op (David Sheridan, Lagena Hill and C.T. Hill) Brian Bennett; Ken-Tenn Sports; the Weakley County Chamber of Commerce; and Zimm’s Nursery.

On Dec. 3 the Christmas season officially kicks off with the arrival of Santa and his elves to Santa’s house in Festival Park, with an appearance to be made around 11 a.m.
The organization also decided to make a donation to Lance Young, a dedicated partner to the Martin Historic Business District, to help with his medical expenses.
