The Symposium Club met recently in the lovely home of Paula Chapman, with 17 members present.
Susan Fowler served a delicious fresh apple cake with caramel sauce.
The meeting was called to order by president Charlotte Erwin. Vice president Susan Fowler introduced guest speaker the Rev. Cecil Sewell, pastor of First Baptist Church in Union City. Sewell began his ministry and served his first church at age 18. Since then, he has served churches with memberships ranging from 50 members to 3,500 members. His travels have covered many states and France. He spoke of his many humorous experiences through the years and told various interesting stories.
A short business session followed the program and the meeting was adjourned.
The October meeting will be in the home of Alice Dunlap, with Lou Joyner serving dessert and Beverly Hunt presenting the program.
