Miss Sedberry, Barker honored

Selena Mae Sedberry and Tyler Wayne Barker were recently honored with several wedding parties.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Steve and Regina Sedberry of Union City. She is the granddaughter of June Sedberry and the late John Morgan “Buddy” Sedberry Jr. of Union City, Martha Smith of Westland, Mich., and Aubrey Smith of Clayton.
The groom-elect is the son of Wayne and Judy Barker of Union City. He is the grandson of Royce “Bim” Barker and the late Fay Barker of Union City and Marie Broadstreet and the late Eugene Broadstreet of Jackson.
The couple will wed 6 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Union City. Music will begin at 5:30.

WINE AND CHEESE
The elegant home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Greer of Union City was the setting for a recent Wine and Cheese honoring the bridal couple. Guests were greeted in the stunning foyer of the home by Mr. and Mrs. Greer and the parents of the couple.
Assorted wines and cheeses were arranged and served at various venues throughout the home for the enjoyment of guests. A dazzling arrangement of Vandella roses, Delphenium, Larkspur, Chinaberry and seeded eucalyptus nestled among Bells of Ireland in an antique crystal vase centered the dining table. Additional vases of fresh flowers and beautiful ferns were interspersed throughout the interior of the home.
Miss Sedberry wore a royal blue chiffon sleeveless ensemble, with shirred neckline, fitted waist and delicately gathered skirt. The neckline was embellished with gold beading.

The couple was presented with a large beverage server from the Arthur Court “grape” pattern.

FISH FRY
An outdoor fish fry was recently held at the beautiful country home of Jeff and Gay Ross of Troy to honor the bridal couple.
The casual event was hosted by the staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City outpatient and surgery departments.
Hosts and hostesses each brought their special homemade dishes — assortments of dips, salads and slaws, served with white beans and Mexican cornbread. Reelfoot crappie, fries, onion rings and hushpuppies were cooked and served by Jeff and Gay Ross, Jeff and Debbie Jackson, David and Ann Simrell and Sam and Harriet Allen, all of Obion County. Rich southern desserts of banana pudding, pecan pie, cobbler, cakes and cookies were enjoyed by all.
Hosts and hostesses presented the honorees with an outdoor grill and grill cover for their new home.

AFTER-HOURS DINNER
The employees of First Citizens National Bank in Union City honored the groom-elect at an after-hours dinner at Buckets Neighborhood Pub and Grub in Union City.
Following an evening of fellowship and delicious food, his co-workers presented him with a gift card.
