Accident injures four

A case of running a stop sign sent four people to Volunteer Community Hospital Tuesday afternoon.
According to an accident report released by the Martin Police Department, Jasmine Shelton, of Rossville, was driving a 2003 Ford Focus and carrying Bria Ford of Martin as a passenger. Both of them were wearing their seatbelts when approaching the intersection of Olive Street and Church Street in Martin.
At the same time Shelton’s car was headed north, Dante Brock, of Martin, was driving his 2002 Ford Explorer westbound on Church Street with Martin resident Billy Watson as the passenger. According to the report, Brock was wearing his seatbelt, but Watson was not and as the Explorer approached the Church and Olive intersection, Shelton ran the stop sign and collided with Brock and Watson.
The Explorer overturned onto the left side of the lane. All four people were transported to Volunteer Community Hospital with minor injuries.
