|Fall gardening seminar set for Saturday |

|All garden enthusiasts are invited to attend the free Fall Garden Seminar on Saturday from 9–11:30 a.m. The seminar will be held at the University of Tennessee at Martin Boling University Center, room 111. |
The guest speakers will be Jimmy Williams from Paris speaking on Fall Gardening at 9 a.m. and John Abernathy from Union City will speak about and demonstrate making Fall Floral Arrangements at 10:30 a.m.
Vendors will be Bigg’s Greenhouses and Zimm’s Nursery. They can answer any gardening questions one may have. They will also have plants for sale.
There will be door prizes and refreshments. The spring gardening seminar was well attended and well received by the audience, a spokesperson noted.
Jimmy Williams has gardened at his home in Paris, for 35 years. At his home guests will find beautiful beds, topiary, forest gardens, and a water garden.
His home and garden is referred to as “Tennessee Dixter.” Williams has written a weekly column for The Paris Post-Intelligencer for 27 years, having taken over the column from his grandmother, a total of 44 years. He has also written for Fine Gardening magazine and other periodicals.
John Abernathy is a certified horticulturist, landscape designer and floral designer.
He worked in New Orleans where he had a business in the industry. At present he gardens and does landscape designing in Union City.
Abernathy is an active Master Gardener.
