On October 4, Gleason first-graders in Mrs. Tara’s classroom enjoyed a special treat, courtesy of Bethel University men’s basketball. During library class, three members of the Bethel men’s basketball team, accompanied by head coach Aaron Johnson, arrived to read to the class, much to the delight of the students.  Bethel forward Tyler Holt (of McKenzie) entertained the class with the story “Big Chickens.”  Guard B.J. Ware (of Knoxville) read “Froggy’s Halloween” and Stephen Gillette (of North Carolina), who plays center for the Bethel team, read from “The Boy Who Cried Wolf.”  The first- graders were thrilled with the experience and the opportunity to interact with athletes who love to read.
