Fresh tilapia raised by students from the University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Agriculture, Geosciences and Natural Resources will be harvested and sold to the public from 2-6 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Aquaculture Teaching and Research Facility on the UT Martin campus.
The facility is located on Derryberry Lane, between Gardner Hyndsver Road and University Street. Whole tilapia fish will be sold for $3 per pound.
Students raised the fish as they researched cost-effective ways to produce tilapia. Funds raised from the sale will go to offset production costs.
For more information, contact Dr. Bradley Ray, assistant professor of fisheries, at (731) 881-7255 or email bray@utm.edu.
