The Sons of Confederate Veterans local camp 176 will meet Sunday at 2 p.m. at Obion County Museum on Edwards Street in Union City. All members are urged to attend, a spokesman said. William Looney, a prominent attorney from Paris and a War Between the States enthusiast, will be the guest speaker.
The SCV works in conjunction with other historical groups to preserve Confederate history. It is not affiliated with any other group. The SCV rejects any group whose actions tarnish or distort the image of the Confederate soldier or his reasons for fighting.
For more information, visit the camp website at scvcamp176.org. Several new audio and video additions are to be found there, a spokesman said.
