N.V. “Veryl” Albright, 83, of Obion died Oct. 4, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Obion First United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Jim Wolfgang and Terry English officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Moriah Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Albright, Tim Beeler, David Burden, Mark Burden, Jeff Thomas, Lyn Maloney, David Cunningham and Eugene Hudgins. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Kirby, Jerry Thomas, Ray Burden, Gene Burden, Emery Burden, Boyd Clanton and Ralph Revell.
Friends may call at the church from noon until the hour of services Thursday. Cryer Funeral Home in Obion is in charge of arrangements.
He was born May 27, 1928, in Obion, son of the late James Raleigh and Flora (Byrd) Albright. He was a farmer and a U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of Obion First United Methodist Church. He was named the Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year in 1961 and was a member of the board of directors of the Obion County Farm Bureau. He had been a director of the former Elbridge Bank, the Elbridge Cemetery Association and the Gibson Electric Membership Corporation.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Burden) Albright, whom he married Dec. 11, 1948; his son, Larry Albright of Obion; his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Dr. Robert Young of Union City; three grandchildren, Paul and Kellye Albright of Obion and Allison Albright and Ramie Young, both of Nashville; and two great-grandchildren, Parker Albright and Kyndall Albright, both of Obion.
