With a fund-raising goal in mind, organizers of a local golf tournament to benefit The Ronald McDonald House exceeded their own expectations.
Nearly $6,000 was raised for the organization.
Two teams tied for first place with a 13-under score, the Taylor Farms foursome winning on a scorecard playoff.
The winning team consisted of Vincent Remkus, Jeremy McCulley, Ross Clark and Mason Storey.
Placing second was the Conley, Campbell and Moss team, which included Damon and Shirley Campbell, and George and Jolyn Gibson.
OC girls 1st, boys 2nd
at Big Sandy meet
The Obion Central girls’ cross country team was first and the boys placed second in the Big Sandy Invitational on Monday.
Rachel Jones led the Lady Rebels with a third-place time of 22:10, while Peyton Daniel was fourth with a time of 22:13.
Nichole Whitson finished seventh in 23:05, Brittney Dodd was 10th at 23:53, and Brenna Wilkins clocked a 24:17 time to place 12th to medal for OC.
Coleman Dunn finished sixth in 19:01 to lead the Rebel boys, while Drake Campbell was 10th in 19:02 and Jackson Smith ran a 19:33 time to finish 14th. Dakota Eaves and Austin Riley also scored for the boys’ team.
