Ed Youngblood is looking for a little help to expand his vision of a military memorial garden on the lawn at the Obion County Courthouse.
It was in August 2006 that Youngblood successfully had the first of two large monuments erected on the courthouse lawn. Now Youngblood is trying to raise enough money to erect an American flag, a Tennessee flag and a U.S. Marine Corps flag close to the existing monuments. He also wants to buy several sturdy benches for the courthouse lawn, several tulip poplar trees in honor of American veterans and several other landscaping items for the courthouse.
Anyone interested in helping with the courthouse project can mail their contributions to the Iwo Jima Fund, c/o Ed Youngblood, 1805 Wedgewood Drive, Union City, TN 38261.
