This week’s story time story was “Those Darn Squirrels!” to start off the beginning of fall. After the story, Ms. Debora helped the children make their own squirrel. We will continue our story time every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. for everyone who wishes to attend. The Book Buzz met this week, discussing 43 different books.
If you would like to join the club they meet the fourth Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m.
On Friday, we celebrated Weakley County Reading Railroad’s seventh birthday. We had an open house to mark the event. Everyone who stopped by enjoyed cupcakes and lemonade and also received some free stickers and books. The Corn and Music Festival was a huge success! Everyone had a great time enjoying the food, music, games and contests.
The Corn and Music Festival Committee will meet Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. in the library. If you would like to be a part of this committee, please join them for their meeting. Please remember to check out our website and Facebook for library program pictures and upcoming events.
We continue to take donations of paperback, hardcover books, DVDs and VHS tapes. The library continues to offer faxing and copying for a minimal fee. We also offer free paper shredding and free Wi-Fi. The library also has several different community items for sale, “The Last 100 Years of Sharon,” Sharon 1997 annuals and our Sharon afghans. Please stop by to check out our ongoing book sale. Books are added weekly. Don’t forget about our recycling. We are taking ink jet cartridges, old cell phones and laser jet cartridges for recycling.
The City of Sharon also has a trailer set up for recycling. Please remember this is for paper, cardboard, electronics and aluminum only.
