Cody Tatum
    School:    South Fulton
    Grade:    Senior
    Height:    6-0
    Weight:    270
    Pos.: Fullback

By the numbers: Tatum was the bruiser of South Fulton’s tough backfield that churned up Gleason’s defense for 245 rushing yards on 57 carries in last week’s dominant 35-6 win at Gleason. The big junior was hard to bring down as he rushed for 104 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries. All three scores came on short bursts — five, two and two yards.
Sound bite: “He played a tremendous game,” Red Devil head coach Kelly Spivey said. “He allowed us to get a lot of carries because he would get four and five yards and then break one. He was really wearing their defense down. We felt if we could ever get to a point where we could run him a lot, use the clock and rest him on defense, we would do that. When we got up on them, we were able to that. He did a good job using his strength.”
HONORABLE MENTION: JaQuay Garmon, SF junior quarterback, completed 6-of-9 passes for 106 yards and a TD and added 26 rushing yards; LaDevin Fair, OC senior running back, carried 15 times or 881 yards and two TDs and  also added a pair of two-point conversions; Trey Phipps, OC senior quarterback, made the most of his six completions in 12 tries by totaling 117 yards and three TDs while also running for a two-pointer; Travis Rutland, UC junior quarterback, returned from an injury that kept him out the first half of the season to rush for 46 yards on 13 carries and throw for 35 yards.
