Willy Kneuppel
    School:    South Fulton
    Grade:    Junior
    Height:    5-7
    Weight:    175
    Pos.:  Linebacker

By the numbers: South Fulton’s third straight win can be credited to a strong defensive effort that limited Gleason to just 186 total yards. Kneuppel led that commanding effort with a team-best eight tackles and a fumble recovery as South Fulton forced four turnovers from the Bulldogs.
Sound bite: “Willy played like we always thought he was capable of playing,” Spivey said. “He was banged up in the Humboldt game, but he’s come back focused on his job and ready. He made some fantastic reads last week and played sideline-to-sideline, which you have to do against a team that runs a lot of jet sweeps and rocket sweeps. And, he made some big plays on the counters. He just had a complete defensive game. We’re excited to see that and hope it continues.
HONORABLE MENTION: Jamie Pirtle, UC freshman lineman, led the Golden Tornadoes with nine total tackles, including two sacks, along with a fumble recovery and an interception; Michael Dysart, UC senior lineman, had six total stops that included three sacks and another for a loss; Josh Quinton, OC senior linebacker, had 13 total tackles and forced a fumble; Tanner Miller, OC senior defensive back and Trent Mann, OC junior linebacker, both had seven total stops and a forced fumble; Stratton Moore, OC senior linebacker, had six tackles and returned a fumble for a touchdown.
