Miss Barnes to wed Shivley on Jan. 14

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Anna Laura Barnes and Clark Preston “Trell” Shivley III, both of Memphis, are being announced today.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Randy and Sharon Barnes of Union City. She is the granddaughter of Carolyn Pilcher, the late James Tracy “Jerry” Pilcher Jr. and the late Thomas and Mildred Barnes, all of Ripley.
She is a 2002 graduate of Union City High School. She received her bachelor of science degree in marketing from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. While there, she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity.
She is employed by Oden Marketing in Memphis and is pursuing her master of education degree at the University of Memphis.
The groom-elect is the son of Preston and Charlotte Shivley of Jackson. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Garrett Sr., Norma Shivley and the late Clark Shivley, all of Jackson.
He is a 2002 graduate of the University School of Jackson. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from UT Knoxville. While there, he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and served as president.
He is employed as regional sales representative for Shaw Floor Covering.
The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. Jan. 14 at First United Methodist Church in Union City. Music will begin at 5:30.
A reception will follow at the Moffatt Centré in Troy.
