Floyd L. Morris Jr., 86, of Martin died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Murphy Funeral Home Chapel in Martin with Rev. Kylan Mann and Rev. Elliott Linhoss officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.
Noel Arant, Charlie Davis, Emery Rooks, Richard Shadden, Gary West and Daron McNatt will serve as pallbearers.
Morris was born Dec. 1, 1924, in Sharon, son of the late Floyd L. Sr. and Opal Mai Moon Morris. He was the widow of Carolyn Phillips Morris. He was a World War II United States Army veteran, the former owner of D & M Garage.
He was a former deacon and a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dan Blake of Martin; two brothers, J. D. Morris of Milan and Rev. Leon Morris of Oak Ridge; one sister, Agnes Carter of Martin; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Renee Adams; and one sister, Ruth Lackey.
