Reelfoot Clinic open

Reelfoot Family Walk-In Clinic has opened at 1509 East Reelfoot Avenue in the former First Citizens National Bank building.
The clinic is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
Reelfoot Family Walk-In Clinic is owned by Sheryl Wright, who is one of two nurse practitioners who work at the facility.
The clinic is governed by a board of directors that works to help regulate state rules for the facility.
Nurse practitioner Tammy Javellana also works at the clinic.
The two nurse practitioners are registered nurses with continuing higher education. They are qualified to assess, diagnose and treat medical problems.
Ms. Javellana graduated from Union University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She went on to pursue a master’s degree at Vanderbilt University in Nashville and has worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City for several years.
Ms. Wright also graduated from Union University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and went on to pursue a master’degree at the University of Tennessee-Memphis.
Ms. Wright also owns the Dyersburg Family Walk-In Clinic and has worked there since March 2004.
Both nurse practitioners are well educated and have vast experience with multiple medical issues and situations that may occur with their patients.
“We at Reelfoot Walk-In Clinic strive to provide high-quality health care to you and your family,” Ms. Wright said.
“We perform physicals and provide treatment of acute and chronic illnesses,” she said. “Acute (short term) illnesses included, but are not limited to, ear infections, bladder infections, headaches and viruses. Chronic illnesses are disorders that last longer than six months and include, but are not limited to, diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disorders and high cholesterol. We also treat minor emergencies such as sprains and lacerations.”
The local clinic accepts TennCare, Medicare and most other insurances.
The former bank building has undergone extensive renovation work to make the facility more functional as a medical clinic.
