LC duo does in Fulton
Rafael Tyler caught two touchdown passes from Nick Price and ran for a third score in Lake County’s 54-8 romp over Fulton City Friday night.
Tyler was on the receiving end of Price aerials that covered 52 and 53 yards and also ran 52 yards for a score as the Falcons took control from the get-go and built a 48-0 halftime lead.
Ricky Boyd rushed for a couple of first-half scores for LC, which improved to 4-2.
Devon Jackson accounted for Fulton City’s lone TD, a five-yard run in the third period. Ray Pledge tacked on the two-point conversion for the Bulldogs (1-4), who were playing their home-opener.
In other games Friday:
Huntingdon 28, Camden 13
Tyler Warbritton ran for 117 yards and two TDs as the unbeaten Mustangs (6-0) won a matchup of state-ranked teams in different classifications.
Huntingdon (No. 4 in Class 1A) had its closest game of the season, but nonetheless dominated the contest statistically against the Lions (No. 9 in 3A).
Humboldt 20, McKenzie 13
Another matchup of Top 10 teams — in Class 2A — saw the fifth-ranked Vikings edge No. 6 McKenzie on David Wilson’s 27-yard interception return with less than a minute left that broke a 13-all tie.
The Rebels had beaten Gleason the week before in similar fashion when Colin Vinson carried a pick-six 71 yards to paydirt.
H’boldt (4-1) got first-quarter scoring runs from C.C. Moody and Shaquille McCory before McKenzie (3-2) countered with a pair of TD runs by Matt Eaton.
Milan 49, Crockett Co. 13
It was 42-0 before the second quarter was half-over, and the No. 1 ranked Bulldogs (Class 3A) were in control throughout the District 13AA mismatch.
Kevius Finch scored the first and last of Milan’s first-half TDs.
Dyersburg 33, Trenton 13
Demite Warren ran for two TDs in the first half, and D’burg never trailed vs. Peabody.
