Union City First Baptist Church is hosting a “Worship Renewal Through Congregational Singing” weekend with Dr. Paul Clark Jr. Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday morning session, scheduled for 9-noon in the church sanctuary, is open to all who are interested in a deeper understanding of the biblical foundation for “singing our worship.” “Come and journey through scripture to find instruction for worship singing and inspiration for singing that rises above stylistic issues. Worship renewal will be a natural result of focusing more on the true meaning of the words we sing as we are lifted to a new level of worship and expressions of faith and joy because of our glorious hope in Christ,” a spokesman said. Dr. Clark is director of worship and music ministries for the Tennessee Baptist Convention. He is also the conductor of the Tennessee Men’s Chorale and Tennessee Ladies’ Chorus and has served as clinician and conference leader at regional, state and local events.
