Tymaine Strickland
    School:    Union City
    Grade:    Sophomore
    Height:    5-8
    Weight:    165
    Pos.:  Linebacker

By the numbers: An improved showing on defense by the Golden Tornadoes last week in a 42-13 win over Greenfield can be credited to strong play by the linebacker corps. Leading that group was Strickland, who posted 11 tackles overall, including two for a loss. Strickland is currently the Twisters’ leading tackler with 35 on the season.
Sound bite: “Tymaine has really come a long way this season,” UC head coach Darren Bowling said. “Sometimes, we forget that he’s a sophomore because he’s playing so well. He hustles and always gives everything he has on every play, which is why he’s always around the ball. We can put him in a lot of different spots becase he’s so athletic. We can do a lot with him and put him in situations where he can be around the ball, and good things usually happen when you’re around the football.”
HONORABLE MENTION: Ryan Moore, SF sophomore linebacker, had 11 total tackles; Ryan Prince, SF junior linebacker, posted nine total stops, including three behind the line of scrimmage; Kendall Greer, SF senior linebacker, had eight tackles, one of those for a loss; J.P. Fowler, SF junior safety, had seven stops, two for a loss; Skylar Hopkins, OC senior lineman, had four solo stops and two assists, including two for losses; Trent Mann, OC junior linebacker, had seven total stops, including four primary tackles; Keylon Hyde, UC junior linebacker, had seven total tackles, including one behind the line of scrimmage.
