Rachel Jones, Peyton Daniel, Nichole Whitson, Brenna Wilkins and Brittney Dodd along with Kris Storey all medaled for the Lady Rebels, putting the OC girls atop the list of team entrants.
Hardin County finished second, and Bradford, led by individual champion Jacklyn Street, placed third.
In the boys’ race, Union City’s Daniel Williamson continued his strong season with a second-place finish overall.
Greene County, from Arkansas, won the team championship, followed by Crockett County and Trinity Christian.
Jones led the Lady Rebel contingent with a third-place time of 21:54, while Daniel was fourth at 22:28 and Whitson was right behind in fifth at 22:30.
Only two seconds separated Wilkins in 12th place, Dodd in 13th and Storey in 14th as they posted respective times of 24:03, 24:04 and 24:05.
Williamson clocked a runner-up time of 17 minutes, 19 seconds to finish 18 seconds behind individual champion Ben Marony of TCA.
Coleman Dunn topped the OC boys’ squad with a time of 18:23, good enough for ninth place.
Others scoring for the Rebels were Jackson Smith, Dakota Eaves, Austin Riley and Ian Miller.
The course, laid out in Graham Park by Chris Crockett and the Union City Turf Management crew, earned numerous compliments from coaches, runners and fans, according to Rebel head coach Pam Daniel. Published in The Messenger 9.21.11
