Weakley County AARP news

Weakley County AARP chapter #3392 met on Aug. 17 in the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church in Martin. Hostesses were Gladys Simmons and Gladys Hailey.
Associated treasurer Jean Bradberry accepted donations to WLJT-TV.
Weakley County administrator of elections Barbara Castleman explained the new requirement for voting beginning Jan. 1, 2012. Photo identification will be required. There are some exemptions. Check with the election commission office for more information.
Mark Maddox, technology coordinator for the Weakley County School System, told about changes in the classrooms due to learning new technology and computers.
The next scheduled meeting of the AARP chapter is Sept. 21. Fellowship and refreshments will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the meeting at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall in Martin.
Mary Elizabeth Bell and Martha Lamb volunteered to the hostesses.
Mark Blake of Reelfoot Rural Ministries is the scheduled speaker.
Everyone is invited to attend the chapter meetings.
