James Timothy Gibson, 53, died Sept. 14, 2011, in Jackson. Tim was born March 22, 1958, in Louden County, to Henry Eugene Gibson and Carrie Lou Simpson Gibson, both teachers in the Knox County School System. Tim followed in their footsteps through an outstanding teaching career in Georgia, teaching at Berrien, Lowndes and Lumpkin County High Schools. His focus and love was Vocational Agriculture, the same as his father. Tim was known for his good humor and hands-on approach. He believed in leading by example and living by the Golden Rule. Over a 25-year career, he touched the lives of countless students. Tim is survived by son, Richard; wife, Kathy; sisters, Sue (Glen) Byrd and Ann (Tim) Dalton; and brother, Tom (Nancy) Gibson. A memorial service and celebration of life was held Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Oral Cemetery in Lenoir City.
