Members of the Community Concert Association of Union City/Obion County will have the opportunity to hear Grammy® winner and veteran Gaither Vocal Band soloist Guy Penrod when he appears in Dyersburg next month.
His concert is part of the Dyersburg Live On Stage concert series, which local Community Concert members may attend.
He will present his powerful vocal style in a heartwarming collection of gospel songs at First Christian Church at 1200 Community Park Road on Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
Penrod’s tenure with the legendary Gaither Vocal Band is marked by 14 albums, two Grammy awards and multiple Dove awards. He has also embarked on a solo country music project, which is a return to his own musical roots. His career began in Nashville as a studio back-up singer, recording with some of the genre’s most prominent artists. Penrod’s solo performance features a classic selection of gospel favorites, but will include a selection of original country songs and stories from his life reflecting his positive worldview. The performance will also feature a trio of instrumentalists.
