The bride-elect is the daughter of Pam Brundige Batson and John Allen Batson Sr. She is the granddaughter of the late Ham Brundige and Maidelle Brundige, both of Martin, and the late Grace Batson. She is a 2007 honors graduate of Portland State University, Portland, Ore. with a bachelor of science degree. The bride-elect was also the president of Tau Sigma Honor Society. The groom-elect is the son of Denny and Sherry Simmons of Martin and Starr Simmons of Camden. His grandparents are the late Charles Simmons and Sara Simmons and the late Murphy Bennett and Jeanne Biggers. He is a 2004 graduate of Dresden High School. The groom-elect is an electrician at Tosh Farms in Henry. The couple will exchange vows in a private ceremony on Friday. A reception for the couple is planned for Saturday at The Lindell in downtown Martin. WCP 9.13.11
