The University of Tennessee at Martin Visual Arts Society, along with the Arts Co-op Gallery, will again sponsor the Soybean Festival art exhibition beginning today and continuing through Saturday.
The exhibition will be housed in the Arts Co-op Gallery, located on Lindell Street in downtown Martin, and will be open to the public from 2-9 p.m.
Faculty members from the Department of Visual and Theatre Arts will select the pieces to be displayed.
The community is urged to vote for first-, second- and third-place awards during the festival. The first-place winner will receive $100, while second place will receive $75 and third place will receive $50.   Winners will be announced Friday at 5:30 p.m.
The Visual Arts Society, a student honor society that seeks to promote the visual arts on the UT Martin campus and in the surrounding community, will sponsor all cash awards.
Entry forms are available at C.E. Weldon Public Library, the Apple Barrel and the Arts Co-op Gallery, all in Martin, and in the Department of Visual and Theatre Arts at 217 Gooch Hall at UT Martin.
For more information, contact the Department of Visual and Theatre Arts at (731) 881-7400.
