Registration for students attending school in the Union City School System will be Aug. 11, with that day counting as the first day of attendance for students, who must observe dress code.
At Union City High School, students who will be freshmen are asked to report to the Union City Civic Auditorium at 8 a.m., with sophomores to attend at 10, juniors at 10:30 and seniors at 11.
Freshmen will be running a mini-schedule and will be dismissed at 10:20. All other classes will spend an hour on registration procedures.
Union City Middle School students will register at the school at 8 a.m. and should be accompanied by an adult.
Union City Elementary School students will register at the school by grade level. Parents with more than one child to register may choose one of the student’s registration times and use that block of time to register both students there.
Kindergarten and third grade registration is set for 8-10 a.m., with first and fourth graders signing up from 10 a.m.-noon and second through fifth graders from 1-3 p.m.
Students who are new to the system who have not preregistered for the school year are asked to go to the school they will be attending and register from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 11. These students will need to have their Social Security number, a birth certificate, an immunization record and two proofs of residence.
Buses will not run on registration day. A missed registration day will be counted as a day of absence for the student.
