The 2011 Bikers for Books poker run, open to riders of all makes and models of motorcycles, will be Sept. 10, beginning at First State Bank at 106 University St. in Martin. The fee is $15 per player and awards will be presented at 3 p.m. Registration is 8-9 a.m. The run will cover 150 miles in northwest Tennessee and proceeds will help fund the WLJT-DT education programs and initiatives such as Countdown to Kindergarten, Rocky T’s FunZone and Reading Rangers literacy program.
The run will end at the City of Martin Municipal Building at 109 University St., and the event will be part of the 18th annual Tennessee Soybean Festival. Cash and merchandise prizes and 50/50 are planned. Cages are welcome to participate.
