Grace Jean (Penny) McNeill, 82, of Hickman, Ky., died July 31, 2011, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hickman First United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Tommy Tucker and Nancy Varden officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Hickman, with Strong Funeral Home in Hickman in charge of arrangements.
Friends may call at the church 5-8 p.m. today and on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the hour of services.
Pallbearers will be Bill Trunnell, Mike Major, Jim Major, Doug Voorhees, Robert Burns, Mark Yaussi and John Barnett. Honorary pallbearers will be Preston McNeill, Charles Allen Cathey, Carmi Penny, Russ Cochran, Nelson D. “Corky” Hill, Harold Garrison, Waudell “Drag” Yarbro and Gene Nettles.
She had been church pianist, organist and choir director for 54 years at Hickman First United Methodist Church, where she was a member.
Survivors include two daughters and her son-in-law, Penny and William E. Trunnell of Minneapolis and Pamela Fee of Paducah, Ky.; two sons and her daughter-in-law, Jesse Franklin McNeill III of Hickman and Joe Christopher and Melanie McNeill of Paducah; and three grandsons and the spouse of one, Matthew McNeill and Nicole Trunnell of Mountain View, Calif., and Walker Grant McNeill and Whitson Henry McNeill, both of Paducah.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Franklin McNeill Jr.; her parents, Walter Henry and Ruth (Stevens) Penny, who were from Tiptonville; her son-in-law, Dr. Sam Fee Jr.; three half brothers, Claude Penny, Odell Penny and Glen Penny; and two half sisters, Lena Cathey and Ruth Middleton.
