‘Relay’ kicks off tonight

The Relay for Life of Fulton County, Ky., will kick off tonight at Pontotoc Park in downtown Fulton.
Relay for Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of the American Cancer Society.
Tonight’s festivities in Fulton will begin with the survivor dinner at 4 p.m., followed by opening ceremonies at 6 at the park. The survivor lap will start at 6:30 and the parade of teams at 6:45.
Other activities will include an auction from 7-8 p.m., “Relay’s Got Talent” at 8, a luminary ceremony at 9, “Dude Looks Like a Lady” womanless revue at 10, “Paper Me Fashionable” from 10:30-11, a scavenger hunt at 11 and “Minute to Win It” and other team activities at 11:30 tonight.
Going into early Saturday, activities will include “Jam With the Air Band” at 2 a.m., with participants asked to bring their own props, followed by a dance party at 3. Clean-up will begin at 4 and the closing ceremony will get under way at 5 a.m. Saturday.
