Book signing at
Sharon Library
Sharon Public Library will be hosting a Book Signing with fantasy author Bryan Davis at 2 p.m. Friday. This is part of the Summer Reading Program.
Martin pool
to open
The Martin Municipal Swimming Pool will be opening Saturday for the season with special hours and admission. Special hours for the opening day are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pric of admission will be $1. 
Youth fishing
at complex lake
If you are 14 years or younger and enjoy fishing, now is your chance. Come join the Martin Parks & Recreation staff and the Martin Kiwanis members at the Martin Recreation Complex lake for a morning of casting and reeling.
The event is from 8 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday.
The schedule for the derby is as follows: 8 a.m. registration for all ages (14 and under.) All ages begin fishing; 9 a.m. regisration closes; 10:10 a.m. ends the 5 and under fishing; 10:45 a.m. ends the 6-8 year old fishing; 11:15 a.m. ends the 9-11 year old fishing and 11:45 a.m. ends the 12-14 year old fishing.
Participants are asked to bring a pole, bait, bucket or stringer, lawn chair and something to drink.
The Kiwanis Club and TWRA will present several awards in four age divisions. If you would like more information call Martin Parks & Rec. at 587-6784 or talk to any Martin Kiwanis Club member.
Rain date will be June 11.
Homecoming set
at New Salem
New Salem Baptist Church will observe homecoming Sunday.
Sunday School will be at 10 a.m. with worship service at 10:50 a.m. A fellowship meal will be served following the morning worship.
“With Willing Hearts” will be the featured group for the afternoon singing.
Bro. Rick Walker is the church pastor.
Abundant Life
plans revival
A sharing revival will be held Sunday- Tuesday at Abundant Life in Sharon and  at Beech Grove, Hwy. 89, West of Sidonia, June 8-11. Brother Cecil Bryant of Florida will lead the services. Everyone is invited to attend.
