Linville K. Freeman, 59, of Martin, died May 25, 2011, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Murphy Funeral Home Chapel in Martin with Rev. Mike Blake officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery.
Mac Barber, Mikie Pierce, Sam T. Long, Keith Brooks, Richie Brawley, Larry Jones, Dickie Jacobs and Keith Davis served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Ellie Kate Freeman, Tony Coleman, Harry Lee Caudle, Warren Caudle, David Murphy, Wendell Alexander, Marvin Alexander, David Pruitt, Hal Bynum, Donald Perkins and David Vowell.
Freeman was born June 24, 1951, in Martin, son of the late John Bryant and Felice Branigan Freeman. He was a 1969 graduate of Martin High School and a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin. He, along with his wife and sons, owned and operated Freeman Cattle Company. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martin.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Stroube Freeman of Martin; two sons and one daughter-in-law, John Robert and Amanda Freeman and Samuel Ray Freeman, all of Martin; one brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Patsy Freeman of Martin; and one granddaughter, Elliott Katherine “Ellie Kate” Freeman of Martin.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
